Visanta had spent years establishing itself as a leader in the photography sector. The growth of the digital channel and its increasing importance within the business made it clear that e-commerce could no longer be managed as a collection of independent initiatives.
The challenge at that time was to provide direction for a key channel, ensuring that strategy, technology, and operations evolved in a coordinated manner. E-commerce had to function as a business unit, with a long-term vision and a real capacity for adaptation.
It wasn’t about speeding things up, but about organizing, deciding, and sustaining.
The key decision was to take on comprehensive e-commerce leadership, actively participating in strategy, execution, and the technical decisions that shaped the business.
From a strategic standpoint, a continuous planning framework was defined and maintained over time, with regular actions focused on visibility, customer acquisition, and repeat business. Not as isolated campaigns, but as a living strategy, adapted to the evolution of the business and the market.
From a technical standpoint, the e-commerce platform was built as a fully integrated system, connected to internal systems and designed to operate efficiently and with control. Integrations with the ERP and custom developments ensured that technology supported the business rather than limiting it.
Our role has been that of e-commerce leadership, working as an extension of the team, with direct involvement in decisions affecting both day-to-day operations and the long term. This close involvement in daily work has facilitated quick and well-informed decisions.
This project demonstrates that evolving leadership involves effective management, aligning strategy, technology, and operations so that e-commerce remains a solid driver of the business.
